Review of the Semi-finalists

Just a few words before you read these. Some of the proposals aren’t too bad in their own right but they reveal the true intentions of the people behind Your Country Your Call. The vast majority are absolutely awful and wouldn’t make it past a kindergarten competition.

Five of the proposals are Dublin specific, now I have no issue with that except that no other place in Ireland is specifically mentioned in any of the other proposals. Isn’t it meant to be for Ireland and not just one city?

The most important thing to understand is that I hold my accusation to be true that the organisers fully intended this competition to result in them lobbying the government with your money. Every one of the semi finalists require a lot more than the €500,000 they said was on offer. In some cases the proposals would cost tens, if not hundreds of millions.

And with that jump right into the steaming pile of shite that is the Your Country Your Call semi-finalists.
