Looks like Michael O’Leary has pulled off another masterstroke with this one. After it was revealed last week that Neil Prendeville wanked himself into oblivion on an Aer Lingus flight, Ryanair has taken full advantage by printing an ad in a few national newspapers. Here it is:

It’s not the wittiest ad of all time but it’s done what it set out to do by getting people talking about it. Joe Duffy was on the case on Liveline and had a bunch of whining miserable Cork gobshites on the phone crying about how it was really low on Ryanair’s part to have such an advert. Then when a Ryanair spokesman came on the show, Joe thought it would be great to try and rip into him.
Unfortunately the Ryanair dude (I can’t recall if it was Michael Cawley or Stephen McNamara)had to toe the line a bit and give a few politically correct responses. I’m sure inside he was thinking along the lines of, “Joe, get a life you stupid bastard, and get a sense of humour you tosser.â€
Joe kept mentioning the point that what Prendeville did was a crime. To make matters worse, he had some chick on from the Rape Crisis Network giving her two cents. What a disgrace, some guy jerks himself off and some chick who supposedly represents women who have been brutally raped tries to make a serious issue out of it. What she did was actually a huge disservice to women who have been raped. I mean, seriously, why the fuck was this idiot on the radio? How the fuck is a guy wanking himself on a plane in any way related to rape?
Ryanair latched on to the hilarious wanking incident and used it to their benefit. What Prendeville did was totally retarded and embarrassing and technically it may have been a crime. But someone should also point out to Joe Duffy that not paying your TV licence in Ireland is also a crime.
Joe should get a grip of himself and have a wank of his own and that idiot from the Rape Crisis Network should shut the fuck up about trivial matters that have nothing to do with rape.
